Uganda vision 2040

National Vision Statement: “A Transformed Ugandan Society from a Peasant to a Modern and Prosperous Country within 30 years”

The Uganda Project Development Programme, working together with other government institutions and key stakeholders, developed the Uganda Vision 2040 to translate the country’s long-term aspirations into a practical framework.

Uganda Vision 2040 builds on the progress already made in addressing critical challenges that have affected the country’s socio-economic growth since independence.

These challenges include ideological gaps, a weak private sector, limited skilled human resources, insufficient infrastructure, a narrow domestic market, low levels of industrialization, an underdeveloped services sector, slow agricultural transformation, and weak democratic practices, among others.
